Vision, Mission and Values

 

Since its inception in 1991, Black Swan has earned both critical and popular acclaim for its world premiere productions and highly distinctive reinterpretations of international theatre classics – all of which are infused with the unique culture of Western Australia. 
Its strength lies in artist development, encouraging access and engaging with the community. The company has seen enormous growth in building audiences, building capacity and establishing a benchmark for quality productions of scale in Western Australia.  Future areas of core strategic focus include artist development, education and regional engagement. 
Under, current Artistic Director, Kate Cherry the company annually presents two Black Swan Lab productions in the Studio Underground and five productions on the Health Ledger Theatre main stage in the State Theatre Centre of WA.
